Welspun Global Brands Ltd. (WGBL) was formed after the demerger of Welspun India Ltd. into two separate companies. The demerger was announced in September 2008 and WGBL was formally launched in March 2009. WGBL is solely responsible for the sales and marketing division of the Home Textile business of Welspun. With the demerger, WGBL allows focus on its own business vertical thereby enabling better business control, flexibility on business operations and leveraging international focus of the group.

On July 3, 2006, Welspun acquired U.K.'s leading Brand, Christy Holding Ltd., which supplies towels to some of the best stores in U.K., Selfridges, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams to name a few.
It is also the exclusive supplier of towels for the famous Wimbledon Tennis Championship.
The joint venture with Christy has strengthened Welspun's position in the branded segment within Europe and increased sales considerably.
Welspun Retail Ltd. is India 's largest specialty retailer in home furnishing segment.
Welspun Retail Ltd. offers products under two brands – SPACES Home & Beyond – the high-end fashion segment (comprising 25% upper quartile) targeted towards the aspiration customer & WELHOME (comprising 40% middle quartile) for the evolving customer, providing value products.
SPACES Home & Beyond and WELHOME offers a one-stop solution for addressing Bed, Bath , Kitchen, Dining and Living furnishing needs of the Customer.
